How to adopt a pet from Roane County Animal Shelter:

  1. Those interested in adopting will view the animal they are most interested in.
  2. If you choose to adopt, you are encouraged to bring pets, children, or other family members to do a meet and greet to ensure that the pet is a good fit for your family.
  3. After your decision has been made to adopt, you will be asked to fill out and adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee. After that is completed, the pet goes home!

Roane County Animal Shelter can provide alteration and rabies vaccination through grant and donation funding for each pet that is adopted.

The staff at Roane County Animal Shelter will answer any questions during the process, work to accommodate any meet and greets and follow up on the adopted pet to ensure that the pet is a perfect fit. Below are some of the animals that are up for adoption right now!
