Who We Are

The Roane County Animal Shelter is an Animal Care and Control Agency that was created by the Roane County Government, which assumes a unique role in the community. As a law enforcement agency, it is responsible for protecting the rights of people against the dangers and nuisances of uncontrolled animals. As an animal care organization and facility, it ensures the legal protection of animals from mistreatment and abuse. The Animal Control Department attempts to administer to the health, safety, and welfare of people and animals by promoting, motivating and enforcing responsible pet ownership.

Directions:
Take the Rockwood / Harriman exit off of I-40 and turn left towards Rockwood. In a short while, you will pass Fowler’s Furniture store on your right – go 7/10 of a mile and you will see a green road sign (on the right) for Manufacturers Road & the Animal Center. Turn right on that road; we’re the only building on the road.
