Job Summary

Responsible for managing, writing, and overseeing the grant processes to support various projects and initiatives within county government. This position is responsible for the coordination, securing, and managing of grants from application to closure, ensuring compliance with grantor guidelines and maximizing the benefits to the county.

 

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, or a related field is preferred. However, an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience in grant management, preferably within a government setting, may also be considered in place of a degree.
  • Strong understanding of governmental financial regulations and grant funding policies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in using financial and database software.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage grant funding to ensure adherence to budget and project timelines.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all grant-related activities.
  • Prepare financial or progress reports as required by grantors.
  • Coordinate the allocation of funds according to grant specifications.
  • Stay informed about local and national funding trends and changes in grant requirements, guidelines, and regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal, financial, and programmatic grant requirements.
  • Stay updated with any changes in grant policies and guidelines.
  • Conduct regular audits of grant processes to ensure full compliance.
  • Communicate with auditors, grantors, and county officials to provide updates on project progress and resolve any issues.
  • Collaborate with finance and program managers to track grant expenditures, prepare financial reports, and ensure compliance with grant budgets and regulations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with grantors, community stakeholders, and other relevant entities.
  • Represent Roane County at meetings, workshops, and conferences related to grant funding.
  • Research and identify grant opportunities relevant to the needs of the county.
  • Coordinate with various county departments to gather necessary information and prepare grant applications.
  • Write and submit grant proposals, ensuring compliance with all grantor requirements and deadlines.
  • Maintain a comprehensive database of past, current, and potential grant opportunities, proposal submissions, and funding received.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

  • Requires the ability to exert light physical effort.
  • Some sitting, standing, walking, bending, reaching, and/or lifting/carrying of objects up to 25 pounds.
  • Tasks may involve extended periods of time at keyboard or workstation.
