Roane County, TN — Today is a special day for Roane County and the entire region as we celebrate the tremendous impact of the Michael Dunn Center. On March 8, 1971, C.R. Lay founded the Michael Dunn Center, naming it after his grandson. This organization has since dedicated itself to changing thousands of lives and shaping our community for over half a century. It is with great honor and pride that today, March 8, 2024, Mr. Creswell proclaims as Michael Dunn Center Day in Roane County.

The proclamation signing was a heartwarming event, attended by Michael Dunn Center President/CEO Michaele Butler, longtime board member and mother of Michael, Harriett Westmoreland, and the guest of honor himself, Michael Dunn. Celebrating this occasion with them was truly special, and it underscores the incredible contributions of the Michael Dunn Center to our community.

The Michael Dunn Center has been a beacon of hope, support, and positive change for countless individuals and families. Its legacy of service and commitment continues to inspire and uplift Roane County. Today’s proclamation is a testament to the enduring impact of their work.
