Job Summary

This position ensures the accurate operation of truck scales, records transactions, maintains a safe and clean work environment, supports bay area operations, and delivers excellent customer service.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred); no violations or DUI convictions within the past three (3) years.
  • Bobcat and forklift experience (preferred)
  • Must be able to pass drug screen and background check.
  • Ability to lift fifty pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Operate truck scales and use Waste Works software to weigh vehicles, record transactions, and issue receipts.
  • Maintain accurate daily reports and handle cash sales.
  • Provide excellent customer service by greeting and assisting the public.
  • Ensure cleanliness and safety in and around the scale house, compactors, mulch areas, and other facilities.
  • Coordinate with truck drivers for incoming and outgoing recyclable materials and schedule tire trailer pickups.
  • Track all incoming and outgoing recycling materials and maintain equipment maintenance records.
  • Perform routine maintenance on bay equipment and ensure all tools and vehicles are in good working order.
  • Assist with loading/unloading trucks and changing compactor boxes as needed.
  • Separate and process recyclable materials.
  • Maintain records of equipment maintenance and report supply or repair needs to supervisors.
  • Assist with custodial duties and inventory of small equipment and tools.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
