Roane County, TN – On Wednesday, November 20, 2024, Roane County celebrated the newly renovated Roane County Health Department and Records Facility with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The event was attended by Tennessee Department of Health Commissioner Dr. Ralph Alvarado, County Executive Wade Creswell, Roane County commissioners, community leaders, and residents.

The renovations to the Health Department include modernized facilities, expanded service areas, and updated technology to enhance the quality of care provided to Roane County residents. These improvements create a more comfortable and efficient environment for patients and staff, ensuring better access to critical health services.

The Health Department offers a wide range of vital services designed to meet the needs of the community. These include primary care and women’s health services, a WIC clinic, family planning, dental care, and vaccinations. They also provide care coordination for families and individuals, health education programs, and vital records services. Additionally, the department offers community navigation services to connect individuals with substance use and mental health disorders to beneficial resources. With a dedicated team and a newly improved facility, the Roane County Health Department is more equipped than ever to promote the health and well-being of the community.

The new Records Facility, located in the same building, represents a significant investment in preserving Roane County’s historical and administrative documents. This secure, centralized space has approximately 7,000 square feet of space dedicated to the storage and maintenance of records. This space will ensure vital records are safely stored and accessible to the public and government offices for years to come.

A special thanks was given to Laura Conner, District Director, for her tireless dedication to making this project a reality. “Laura Conner has worked tirelessly on this project, driven by her love for this community and her commitment to the people of Roane County,” said County Executive Wade Creswell.

“We are excited to celebrate this incredible milestone for Roane County,” said Executive Creswell. “This facility not only enhances the services we provide to our residents but also demonstrates our commitment to safeguarding our community’s health and history.”

The ceremony featured speeches from Dr. Alvarado, County Executive Creswell, and Director Laura Conner, a ribbon-cutting, guided tours of the updated facilities, and a reception with light refreshments.

Residents are encouraged to visit the renovated facility, located at 1362 N Gateway Ave, Rockwood, TN 37854, to explore its offerings.
