In an inspiring display of youth leadership and community spirit, a group of exceptional students from Roane County Schools were recognized by Roane County Executive Wade Creswell at the Roane County Commission meeting for their outstanding leadership skills demonstrated at the Tennessee Teen Institute (TTI). The students honored were Addison Woody, Lane Taylor, La’Mya Branson, Brody Kolski, Isaac Carter, Lorelai Langley, and Savannah Branson.
These dedicated students attended TTI from June 23rd through June 28th at the University of Tennessee at Martin. During the six-day event, they immersed themselves in a dynamic learning environment alongside 500 other students from across Tennessee. They engaged with top experts from around the country on topics including leadership, prevention, teen resiliency, community service, and more.
Throughout their time at TTI, the Roane County students embraced the institute’s principles and stood out as exemplary ambassadors of Roane County Schools. Their leadership, initiative, and teamwork were nothing short of impressive, showcasing their ability to take responsibility and act with respect. These qualities did not go unnoticed, leading to their recognition by the Roane County Commission.
The Roane County Anti-Drug Coalition (RCADC) expressed immense pride in these students. “Their actions and conduct at TTI have made us incredibly proud,” stated Nathan Wray, Prevention Coordinator at RCADC. “We also want to extend our heartfelt thanks to the parents of these students for allowing us the opportunity to support and educate their children on leadership and personal growth.”
The recognition by the Roane County Commission underscores the importance of fostering leadership and community involvement among young people. It also highlights the positive impact of programs like TTI in shaping the leaders of tomorrow.
Congratulations to Addison Woody, Lane Taylor, La’Mya Branson, Brody Kolski, Isaac Carter, Lorelai Langley, and Savannah Branson for their outstanding achievements!
