Roane County Jail

In addition to its daily operations, the Roane County Jail emphasizes inmate well-being and rehabilitation by providing access to healthcare and programs that support personal development and successful reentry into society. These initiatives may include educational resources, substance abuse counseling, vocational training, and religious services designed to encourage positive change and reduce the likelihood of reoffending. Through these efforts and continued coordination with courts, healthcare providers, and community organizations, the facility works to uphold inmate rights, support rehabilitation, and contribute to a safer community.

Inmate Work Crew

The Roane County Inmate Work Crew Detail provides supervised labor for community improvement projects throughout the county, assisting local government agencies, municipalities, and nonprofit organizations with tasks such as roadside cleanup, landscaping, public facility maintenance, and sanitation. Eligible inmates who meet behavioral and security requirements may voluntarily participate, helping reduce public service costs while gaining practical work experience, developing responsibility, and building skills that can support their successful reintegration into the community upon release.
